On Saturday 1st November, Talkin Tarn ARC held a boat naming ceremony at Talkin Tarn Country Park.
The club has purchased several second hand boats over the past few years and decided to rename them with names more appropriate to the club. The latest additions to the Tarn fleet were three boats purchased from St Leonard’s School - quad scull, double scull and single scull. These were renamed “Talk of the Tarn”, “A Good Talkin 2” and “Jimmy Harrison”. The latter named after Club Stalwart and Treasurer Jimmy Harrison. This was in recognition of all the work Jimmy has done for the club over many years.
Another Quad Scull, which was given to the club by Peter Little of Merchant Taylor’s School, was named “Peter’s Gift”. Peter sadly passed away after long illness early this year.
The club also christened a set of sculling blades which were kindly donated by local butcher Colin and Rosemary Moore.
